Those stones are still on the bridge and I myself lifted one in each hand on many occasions and one market day, I carried them across the bridge and back, some four to five yards - Donald Dinnie.

Height - 6'

Weight -145KG

Age - 39

3 unassisted lifts in Feb 2017 and a successful lift and carry at The Gathering in August 2017.

Residence - Belfast, Northern Ireland

25/2/17 Brian completed 3 unassisted lifts of the Dinnie Stones at the Potarch Cafe & Restaurant. His lifts were witnessed by Brett Nicol, Jim & Rosemary Splaine, David Bagnall, Gary Bunting, William Kingsberry, Malcolm & Christina Nicol and Helen Knowles. A large crowd of spectators and press were also present.

6/8/17 Brian was first to attempt the lift and carry at The Gathering. He is a former 3 times Ireland’s strongest man and World’s Strongest Man semi-finalist in 2005. Brian took his position, the distance was marked out and off he went to huge cheers from all in attendance. Brian chose to conserve energy and kept the stones low on each lift. His progress was slow and steady and close to the end, looking like he was all but spent, the crowd raised their encouragement and Brian found a new surge of strength and completed a historic carry of the mighty Dinnie Steens proving he was mightier. The atmosphere was electric and the history books opened another page to welcome Brian.
